Nokia C7 will arrive soon to Vodafone UK and T-Mobile UK, Nokia C7 is the second Nokia smartphone to run the latest Symbian platform Symbian^3 after the overhyped Nokia N8.
The Nokia C7 has a 3.5-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, an 8-megapixel camera and a stainless steel and glass chassis that’s 10.5mm thick. There’s also 680 MHz processor and the internal storage capacity is of 8 GB with support for MicroSD card of up to 32 GB, WiFi b/g/n and Bluetooth 3.0, together with GPS and both an FM radio and FM transmitter. The 1200 mAh Li-Ion battery is supposed to last for up to 552 hours of standby time and 9.3 hours of talk time.
Nokia C7 also brings excellent social networking abilities with updates from Facebook and Twitter fed directly to the home screen, as well as one touch access to many popular email accounts including Ovi Mail, Yahoo! With the Galaxy S, Samsung have finally relinquished their insistence on producing phones that only run on their own bada operating system.
In putting the terminally flawed OS out to pasture, Samsung have realised their potential to become big players in the smartphone market.
bada had, quite rightfully come under criticism. Not only for being one OS too many in a market already full of high-quality competition, but further for having flaws that set it some way behind those that it was trying to match.
It was unreceptive to third-party developers, unlikely to support any future technological developments, and didn’t support multi-tasking – something certainly necessary in any new platform trying to assert itself in 2009.

Apple revealed the iPhone 4 (neither iPhone 4G nor iPhone HD) at the WWDC conference today. Iphone 4 is the thinnest smartphone in the world.
The iPhone 4 comes with a 3.5 inch and 960×640 pixels IPS LCD called “Retina Display”, which features “326 pixels per inch”, and a 5 megapixel camera with a backside illuminated sensor, autofocus system, 5x digital zoom, and an LED flash, and recording HD video at 720p resolution. The phone also features quad-band HSPA, 802.11n Wi-Fi connectivity, a compass, an accelerometer, and a 3-axis gyroscope sensor.
The iPhone 4 is powered by an A4 processor designed by Apple and runs iPhone OS 4.
The iPhone 4 has a large battery for up to 7 hours of talk time, 6 hours of 3G browsing, 10 hours browsing over WiFi, 40 hours of music, 10 hours of video playback, or over 300 hours of standby time. Read more…

Vodafone Uk has just announced that the Nokia N8 will be available soon on its website. N8 is the first Nokia handset to run Symbian^3 OS.
The Nokia N8 features a large 3.5 inch 640 x 360 pixel resolution touchscreen, a Carl Zeiss 12 megapixel camera with wide-angle lens and Xenon flash, shooting 720p HD video, N8 has also 16GB of storage , an FM radio, 802.11 b/g/n WIFI connectivity, 3g and a GPS chip.
The Nokia N8 will be loaded with the Ovi Maps, which provides free turn-by-turn directions, and the Ovi Store for finding and installing nokia apps. The Nokia N8 will be the first device to work with Nokia’s Qt 4.6.2 software development environment for making application also loaded with Java MIDP 2.1 and Flash Lite 4.0.
Vodafone hasn’t announced neither date nor price for the N8, but it is expected to be released between July and September. Read more…

Google has formally launched the over-hyped smartphone Nexus One at its headquarters in Silcon Valley, The Nexus One is the first phone that will be sold through Google’s online market.
The Nexus One runs on Android 2.1 OS, features a 3.7-inch WVGA AMOLED touchscreen 800 x 480 pixels,and a 5MP camera with autofocus and LED flash, Nexus features also a 3.5mm headphone jack, 802.11b/g WiFi, stereo Bluetooth , a 4GB microSD card expandable to 32GB, accelerometer, active noise compression, compass support and GPS chip.
With the voice-to-text capability you can populate any text field by talking (not only text searches) and composing E-mails and SMS. The Nexus One also has live animated wallpapers that you can interact with.
The phone is currently available unlocked for $529 through google.com/phone, or for $179.99 on a two year deal from T-Mobile and will later be launched on other carriers.

LG made a lot of money with their LG Cookie. The latter was a touchscreen handset that was very popular for its competitive price. LG added the slide-out QWERTY factor to the equation and we got ourselves the LG GW520 handset. Verizon Wireless officially announced the awaited Samsung Omnia II smartphone that runs Windows Mobile 6.5 and the new TouchWiz 2.0 user interface.
Samsung SCH-i920 Omnia II features a 3.7 inch, 480×800 pixel AMOLED touchscreen, 5.0 megapixel autofocus camera with flash, also includes 8GB of internal storage expandable up to 16GB through microSD cards, 3G connectivity,Bluetooth, GPS and Wi-Fi.
The Omnia II includes Verizon services like V CAST Music, V CAST Video, V CAST Song ID, Visual Voice Mail, and VZ Navigator GPS navigation.
