Releasing by T-Mobile on January 19, the Motorola Cliq 2 works on a fast 1GHz processor and comes with a huge 3.7-inch FWVGA touch screen. With a smoothly designed keypad, Motorola, as an attempt to entice customers, claims that this phone “will definitely balance your life”. It is powered by a 1420mAh battery with up to 7.9 hours of talk time and 13 days of standby time.

The Motorola Cliq 2  is equipped with features that will appeal to both business users and the common men as well. It allows access, from its homescreen, to social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter and MySpace through MOTOBLUR. With a 5-megapixel camera that comes with digital zoom and auto focus, this new Motorola 3G smartphone is all about helping users stay connected to whatever is happening in their world.

The Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 features a 4 inch TFT touchscreen (480 x 854 pixels resolution), and an 8.1 Megapixel camera with LED flash, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and AGPS.

Xperia X10 is the second Android phone based on a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon after the Acer Liquid A1, and has 1GB of internal memory and an 8GB microSD memory card is included in the package.

When it comes to advances in mobile phone technology, 2009 is shaping up to be a good year. With the announced release of at least 3 android phones, gadget enthusiasts will mark this year quite a memorable one indeed. HTC is the company that will usher this milestone. According to an HTC official, the mobile phone manufacturer will release at least 2 other Android phones aside from the HTC Magic. When this happens, there will be a total of at least four Android phones in the market, including HTC’s own T-Mobile G1.

While information on these Android phones have not been confirmed, the rest of the digital world is in a tizzy over the upcoming release of the Palm Pre. Palm, as you will remember, used to be the world’s leading smartphone manufacturer. But their throne was taken over by such giants as Apple and HTC. But with the release of the Palm Pre (early June in the US), Palm will once again be able to dance with the competition. It seems that the Palm Pre’s user interface and OS will redeem the company. If reports are to be believed, the Palm Pre’s user interface is similar to HTC’s TouchFLO interface. This means that it can give you better user experience as it can recognize many gestures and motions. The handset’s webOS is also proving to do a very good job.

Once users get their hands on the Palm Pre, we will know for sure if this device can prove to be the iPhone’s biggest rival. People love mobile phones so much that news about new devices cause so much excitement. Take the case of the Nokia N900 Internet Tablet. As of the moment, Nokia has not made an official announcement about this device. It is not even certain if its official name really is the N900. What the public has at the moment are rumors about its features and price. This information may not have come from Nokia itself but they are enough to make people excited to see the actual unit and get their hands on one.

According to rumours, the Nokia N900 Internet Tablet will be similar to the N810 Internet Tablet. It will also be in the slide-out QWERTY keyboard phones range and is sure to look fantastic. Unlike the N810, however, the N900 is said to be smaller and better-looking. This is a 3.5-inch touch screen phone with a great 800 x 480 resolution. Furthermore, it is also believed that the N900 will run on a Maemo operating system and will have Wi-Fi connectivity, GPS, a 5MP camera, and 32 GB of memory that is expandable to 48 GB.

In terms of pricing, rumours state that the N900 will cost around $650. It said that it will be released in the US first sometime in August or September. People in the UK and the rest of Europe will get to enjoy this device come October of this year.

Touchscreen mobile deals are great but not everyone likes to type on these devices’ soft keyboard. It can feel just a tad weird. For some people, nothing beats a real alpha-numeric keyboard as this is what all of us are used to. Thank heavens for the Samung Tocco Ultra. This phone is the answer to those who want a touchscreen device  but still be able to type efficiently on a keyboard that we all know and love.

The integration of the alpha-numeric keyboard is just one of the great things about the Samsung Tocco Ultra. Another amazing thing about this handset is its appearance. Grey and red always look great together and Samsung has taken advantage of this fact. It’s AMOLED screen also offers clear and bright viewing experience. It’s better than an OLED display simply because it uses less power, which means that you’ll have longer battery life. Even if you use all applications all day long on the Samsung Tocco Ultra, you won’t need to turn to the charger for help.

But this will not be a review if we don’t mention what might keep you from buying this handset. Though Samsung proved to be a genius when the company combined touchscreen and alpha-numeric keypad, they still should have worked on making the user interface more responsive. If you compare the handset’s display response to that of an iPhone, you’ll see why many users are in love with the latter.  This 8 megapixel camera Phone might be impressive but it can use features that will make taking snaps much more satisfying. But this is not a DSLR; it’s just a mobile phone WITH a camera and we could be asking for too much.

In summary, the Samsung Tocco Ultra a great device. It’s a fantastic touch screen phone but don’t go comparing it to devices with more responsive user interface because you’ll be disappointed.
