LG Optimus Black features a 4-inch NOVA display. LG says that this display is designed to be “the brightest, clearest and most readable” mobile screen. The super-bright Nova display is also energy efficient, and LG claiming up to a 50% reduction in power consumption in comparison to conventional LCD displays.

Other specs include a 2 megapixel front-facing camera, also features the world’s first Wi-Fi Direct for quick and high-quality data transfer between mobile devices, also equipped with a 1500 mAh battery and weighs just 109 grams.

The LG Optimus Black will be available Worldwide in the first half of 2011.

LG made a lot of money with their LG Cookie. The latter was a touchscreen handset that was very popular for its competitive price. LG added the slide-out QWERTY factor to the equation and we got ourselves the LG GW520 handset. Smart of the manufacturer to add another cool thing to an already famously cool handset, we feel qwerty phones are on the rise as emailing and texting is so much easier. 

Let’s start our LG GW520 review with the looks. First you will notice the display that may be small for some standards but is perfectly decent at 2.8 inches. The weight and overall size are just right and we loved how it felt in our hand. The keyboard was a delight to use as well. Unlike other QWERTY phones where the buttons are cramped, using the keyboard of the LG GW520 is pure heaven. We turned off the lights to check the backlight and we are happy to report that the illumination is even. You can type away in the dark all you want. The keyboard is one aspect that LG did absolutely right.

The fast response of the screen adds to the great experience that you will have with the phone. Since there is no way for you to install apps that can lag the phone, speed of the touchscreen response will not be an issue. We sure did enjoy using the Flash-based interface and the easy customisation of the widgets. As for the messaging factor, the handset will impress you. Supporting SMS, MMS, and email, you can pretty much contact anyone any way you want. And don’t think you only got the keyboard to rely on for typing. This handset has an on-screen keypad as well.

For other online-related activities, you will have a full support of 3G and a decent browser. The Facebook integration feature is also fun. But we discovered that the multimedia functions of the handset are even more fun. The music player is wonderful to use, the 3MP camera takes adequate photos, and the video recorded does its job. For a budget phone, you would think that LG will not focus so much on these features but we are thankful that they did.

In conclusion, we commend LG for banking on the success of their previous handset to give us a new cheap mobile phone. This is another step that will make touchscreen phones much more accessible to everyone. We got no problem with that.

The LG Viewty Smart equiped with a 3-inch WVGA touchscreen which uses LG’s new 3D S-Class GUI as seen on the LG Arena KM900, and a 8 megapixel camera with autofocus, Xenon flash, image stabilizer face-tracking. The LG GC900  also has HSDPA support for high-speed 3G connectivity.

LG Viewty Smart will be the slimmest 8-MP cameraphone in the world at 12.4mm and records videos at 720×480 px resolution and geotag photos using the integrated A-GPS receiver.

LG Viewty Smart is headed for Orange mobile network. but we didn’t hear so far anything official from either LG or Orange in the UK.

After presenting a selection of highly acclaimed and stylish phones, LG made a big step in the design category by introducing a new innovative aesthetic concept of transparency. This crystal glass-like phone proves that design can be achieved not only with the use of bright colors, but also by revealing the device in its purest form. Once imagined but never seen, the LG GD900 is expected to make a new fashion. With the onset of the LG-GD900 at Mobile World Congress 2009 in Barcelona, LG will reinforce its leadership in the mobile industry by expanding its portfolio of design.

The LG GD900 stand out from the crowd, as well as those who will carry it. When opened, the sliding translucent keypad illuminates a cool glow that reflects the phone’s sleek and polished silver body. But not just the design was the only thing in mind when creating the LG GD900. It also the highest level of technical features expected in a first class phone devices, including its Bluetooth headset to go along with its latest work of art .

The LG GD900 transparent phone can be expected to arrive in the 2nd quarter of 2009. No much information about this phone has been unveiled yet.

But now, more details on the handset LG KM900 Arena sank in the Netherlands, through the Phone House retail sales brochure.

With the brand name, very clearly, and at least some of the main features.

So to get to the point – LG KM900 Arena will be a touch screen media combined metal housing, the camera of 5 megapixels (video recording in DVD quality) and, probably playing Divx. It will also be Wi-Fi support, built-in GPS and a “S-Class innovative 3D interface, which looks a bit” iPhonish “at least in the picturebelow.

LG KM900 Arena handset appears to be already in production and expected to reach retail shelves in Europe in March.

Looks like a very interesting for me, even if the overall design reminds me somewhat of Samsung Omnia.
