The rumor mill went into overdrive around the new OnePlus’s yet-to-launch smartphone, speculations are swirling about what is it called? when to be launched? and its specifications.

OnePlus has confirmed that the new OnePlus will be named OnePlus 5 and they will skip number 4 as it is considered ominous due to the similarity in pronunciation between number four and the word death in Chinese. But the company confirmed to The Verge that the name has nothing to do with the superstitions it was rather influenced by a number of OnePlus employees who are fans of former NBA player Robert Horry, who wore number 5 in Jersey.
